MobilPass monthly ticket
Cheaper with MobilPass, Köln-Pass or Bonn ID card.
The MobilPass monthly ticket is a discounted ticket offer for holders of a MobilPass or a Köln-Pass or Bonn ID card. It is available in price levels 1 to 5 and can be purchased individually or as a subscription.
You can use the MobilPass monthly ticket if you receive one of these benefits:
- Citizen's allowance and social benefit (SGB II)
- Housing benefit
- Benefits for basic security in old age and in the event of reduced earning capacity as well as ongoing assistance with living expenses outside of institutions (SGB XII)
- Standard benefits under the Asylum Seekers Benefits Act (also for unaccompanied minor refugees)
- Ongoing benefits for war victims in accordance with the Federal Pension Act
You can apply for these cards at the job center or social welfare office of the city or at the Landschaftsverband Rheinland.
Please note: The discounted ticket is only valid if you have your MobilPass, Köln-Pass or Bonn ID and a valid photo ID with you!

KölnPass and Bonn ID card holders receive higher discounts due to further cost coverage by the cities of Cologne and Bonn.

The MobilPass monthly ticket is valid around the clock in the selected cities and municipalities.
You can use it flexibly from any desired starting day for one month - e.g. from the 15th of one month to the 14th of the following month. On the last day of validity, you can use the ticket until 3 a.m. (on the following day).
The MobilPass monthly subscription ticket has the same scope of use. However, it is only valid from the first day of the following month. You must order it by the 10th of the month for the following month.
Please note: MobilPass monthly tickets (including price level 5) are only valid in the Rhine-Sieg region!

The MobilPass monthly ticket can be used on the following means of transport:
- Bus lines, tram, city and subway lines
- S-Bahn, RegionalBahn and RegionalExpress lines
- Express bus lines
(An express bus surcharge is required to use the express bus line SB 60!)

Childrenup to the age of 5 travel free of charge on buses and trains. Children who do not yet attend school also always travel free of charge, even if they are already 6 years old. Children between the ages of 6 and 14 travel with discounted single and 4-person tickets at the children's rate.
With a MobilPass monthly ticket, you can also travel for free from 7 p.m. Monday to Friday and all day on weekends and public holidays (until 3 a.m. on the following day).
- one person over the age of 14 (with their own MobilPass, Köln-Pass or Bonn ID card),
- up to 3 children (from 6 to 14 years) and
- a bicycle .
With a monthly MobilPass subscription, children can travel with you from 3 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays.
You can take your dog with you free of charge on the VRS. Please make sure that a dog is always accompanied by a suitable person - and, depending on the breed, wears a muzzle. The seats are reserved for people. All animals must adhere to this.

The MobilPass monthly ticket is freely transferable for individual purchases and subscriptions and can be passed on to another person with their own MobilPass, Köln-Pass or Bonn ID card.
For price level 1b, however, the person must have the same authorization card.
