With the SchülerTicket, you have unlimited mobility for an entire school year - and not just on the way to school.
- valid in the VRS network and in the neighboring municipalities of the Aachener Verkehrsverbund (AVV)
- only available from participating schools (ask at your school office)
- valid as a personal ticket only in conjunction with a valid student ID or photo ID.
How much does the SchülerTicket cost?
The price of a SchülerTicket depends on the location of your school. There are two location and price categories in the VRS, which you can see here: Location categories SchülerTicket
If you have a very long journey to the nearest school (elementary school over 2 km each way, secondary school I over 3.5 km, secondary school II over 5 km), you can get a free travel entitlement and only pay a small co-payment.
The more children under the age of 18 entitled to free travel a family has, the cheaper the ticket becomes. The third and all further children travel free of charge. Children from families with assistance according to SGB XII always travel free of charge. Please contact your city or social welfare office for more information.
