Weight room shuttle project
Creation of a public, inter-municipal and scalable platform for on-demand transportation to increase the attractiveness of the region.
Using an app to flexibly order a shuttle to your front door, which takes you to the next stop or directly to your desired destination, so that you don't need your own car if possible - this is what on-demand transport promises to achieve. The district town of Bergheim, the Rhein-Erft-Verkehrsgesellschaft (REVG) and the VRS want to develop an innovative solution for this in the Rhineland region.
The existing public transport system will be usefully supplemented and, in particular, the attractiveness of the region will be increased in the course of structural change.
Many local authorities currently have a need for on-demand transport, but the implementation is too complex and costly, especially for smaller local authorities.
The right solution is a scalable platform for on-demand transport that remains in public hands and is set up as flexibly as possible.
In this way, public transport authorities, even in smaller municipalities, can implement their own on-demand transport via the Kraftraum shuttle platform, as the costs for the platform are shared.
