World Children's Day 2025
Children under the age of 15 travel free.
September 20th is World Children's Day. On this day, all children up to and including the age of 14 can travel for free on local buses and trains throughout North Rhine-Westphalia. This means that they do not need to buy a ticket anywhere in NRW.
To ensure that all children can travel to the various festivals by bus and train free of charge, the free travel regulation for children up to and including the age of 14 also applies throughout the entire weekend (September 20 and 21, 2025) on the entire VRS network.
